Palindrome Retirement Day #1331

The other day someone asked why I track the days of my retirement. I considered the possible responses- everything from "it's a countdown" (rather dark), to “makin’ Cap’t Kirk proud.” But the truth is: “it took me a long time to catch up to BACK here.” BACK to living out the dreams and hopes of 9yr old Linda – before puberty & fear of being unlovable, unworthy, inadequate, poor, ugly, fat, stupid, fear of ……wow- everything? Before all that #$%& hit. Based on the average life span for an educated white American woman, I have [hopefully] around 5840 days left. Considering I’ve lived 23,673 days already, that’s a fifth to go- which sounds like a liquor store order for this old Crone. So I celebrate by trying to make my small world a little better every day, because [real answer]

Every day counts, so I count every day.
